
Phil is the first Developer Advocate at SandboxAQ, a Google-originated startup specialising in the applications of Quantum Technology & Artificial Intelligence. He is responsible for helping the developer community understand and make use of SandboxAQ’s models, software and tools, as well as passing developer/engineer feedback to the product and engineering teams within SandboxAQ to improve their solutions and make them easier and more effective to use.
Phil has previously worked for Amazon Web Services as a Sr. Specialist Solutions Architect, specialising in VMware Cloud on AWS. Before that, he spent nearly 7 years at VMware in roles spanning Solution Engineering, Customer Success, Advanced Customer Engagements and Global Architecture Support for the Networking & Security Business Unit (NSBU), and nearly a decade in network engineering roles covering public sector agencies in the UK.
Phil has a wealth of Network experience, designing, deploying or supporting some of the largest network fabrics in the world. He holds the VMware VCIX-NV, VCP-DCV certifications, as well as the AWS SAA certification.
Outside of his work in tech, Phil is a keen (slow) cyclist and reasonable DJ, having played on supporting lineups on events featuring Above & Beyond, Eric Prydz, Jeremy Olander, Paul van Dyk, Hardwell and Candi Staton.
